How to whitelist revel8 IPs and domains in Google Admin to ensure email delivery and remove phishing warnings

🧰 1: Whitelist revel8 IP Addresses in Google Admin

  1. Log in to the Google Admin Console: https://admin.google.com

  2. Go to Apps β†’ Google Workspace β†’ Gmail

  3. Select Spam, phishing and malware to expand the settings

  4. Scroll to IP addresses

  5. Add all revel8 IP addresses (separated by commas)

    β†’ You’ll find the required IPs and sender domains in your [revel8 dashboard or documentation]

  6. Click Save to apply changes

🚫 2: Set Up Spam Filter Exceptions

  1. In the same section inGoogle Admin Console (Spam, phishing and malware)

  2. Under Spam, click Edit and name your filter (e.g. revel8)

  3. Enable the following:

    • Bypass spam filters for internal senders

    • Bypass spam filters for messages from addresses/domains in selected lists

    • Bypass spam filters and hide warnings for messages from senders/domains in selected lists

  4. Click Create or edit list under these sections and:

    • Add all revel8 IPs and email domains

    • Uncheck "Authentication required (received mail only)"

  5. Under the second section bypass + hide warnings, select Use existing list

  6. Click Save

🟨 3: Disable Gmail Warning Banners

Without making further changes, Google will likely show the following warnings for simulated phishing emails:

  1. Still in the Spam, phishing and malware section of Google Admin Console https://admin.google.com

  2. Scroll to Inbound gateway

  3. Hover over the settings and click Edit

  4. In the dialog, configure as follows:

    • Add revel8 IPs to Gateway IPs

    • Leave "Reject all mail not from gateway IPs" unchecked

    • Enable "Require TLS for connections from the email gateways listed above"

    • Under Message tagging, enter a random string like:

      kzndsfgklinjvsdnfioasmnfsmf

    • Check "Disable Gmail spam evaluation on mail from this gateway; only use header value"

  5. Click Save


βœ… Final Checklist

  • IP addresses entered under Gmail settings

  • Custom spam filter created with revel8 IPs & domains

  • "Authentication required" unchecked

  • Inbound Gateway settings updated

  • Warning banner suppression enabled

  • Configuration saved successfully
