revel8 Reporter App for iOS integration

Learn how to obtain licences from Apple Business Manager (ABM), and then distribute and configure the app to your users via your MDM system (this documentation explains Microsoft Intune).

 1: Obtain licences via Apple Business Manager (ABM)

  1. Make sure you have activated custom apps (Preferences > Organisation Settings > Activate Custom Apps)

  2. Derive your Organization ID & Name from ABM (Preferences > Organisation Information > Name & Organisation ID)

  3. Share your Organization ID & Name with us

  4. We will share the app with you (usually it takes a couple of hours until the app shows up in your ABM under Custom Apps)

  5. Once you see the Revel8 Reporter App in your ABM, you can obtain the necessary license seats by "ordering" them for free. Background: even though the app price is 0$, Apple's system requires a transaction.

📱2: Configure revel8 Reporter in Intune

  1. Connect Microsoft Intune with ABM

    1. Download required token from ABM (Preferences > Payments and Billing > Content Tokens)

    2. Paste the token in here (Tenant Administration > Connectors and tokens > Apple VPP Tokens)

  2. Configure revel8 Reporter in Microsoft Intune

    1. Go to Apps > Configuration > Create > Managed Devices

    2. Assign a name to the new configuration, select “iOS/iPadOS” as platform and “revel8 Reporter” as targeted app. Click “Next”.

    3. Select “Enter XML data” as configuration setting format. Paste the XML data (which we will provide to you) with information about SSO endpoints, client & issuer IDs, and backend-specific parameters. Click “Next”.

    4. Select the groups which should receive the configuration (e.g. all users). Click “Next”.

    5. Review and then create the new configuration.

📲 3: Distribute revel8 Reporter via Intune

  1. The app should appear automatically (in Apps > iOS/iPadOS Apps) when licences have been “bought” in Apple Business Manager and the VPP token was added to Intune. If the app does not show up, please sync the VPP token at Tenant Administration > Connectors and tokens > Apple VPP Tokens.

  2. Under “Properties”, you can edit the assignments (who can/should receive the app).

  3. After these steps the app will be either (depending on the settings you have chosen) automatically installed on the users’ devices or will be available for them in the Company Portal app for installation.

🖥️ 4: Configure app on revel8 platform

  1. Log into revel8 platform

  2. Go to Settings > Integrations > Phone Reporting

  3. Determine to which email address(es) the reports should be sent to & edit the email subject prefix

  4. Save settings
