Microsoft Entra ID - Enterprise Application Scoping Filter

Limit which Microsoft Entra ID users or groups are synced to revel8 over SCIM, with a scoping filter.

If you sync employees from Microsoft Entra ID with SCIM, a scoping filter limits which users or groups reach revel8. Useful for a pilot, or where an agreement covers only part of the organization. Without a filter, every user and group in scope is synced.

This guide assumes SCIM provisioning is already set up. See Microsoft Entra ID Sync via SCIM.

1. Open provisioning for the revel8 app

  1. In the Microsoft Entra admin center, open Enterprise applications and select your revel8 application.

  2. Open the Provisioning tab.

2. Open the mapping

  1. Expand Mappings.

  2. Choose the User or Group mapping, depending on what you want to filter.

3. Add the scoping filter

  1. Open Source Object Scope. It shows All records by default.

  2. Add a scoping filter with the conditions that define who should be included, for example a department or a group attribute. You can combine several conditions.

  3. Save the filter and the mapping.

Check that it works

After the next provisioning cycle, only the users or groups that match the filter appear under Organization → Employees in revel8.
